Reports close to Javaball are telling us that their will be a new update to come for Javaball.
Now it's already been introduced to hockey, and Jouko & Mikko are set to release it here on Javaball.
Here's the proposed update plans which I dont see much change:
The /report command has been improved.
When you see abuse (bad language, own goaling, etc.) use the command to report the happenings to game moderators, for example:
Moderators see the report and can then check the situation.
Now the reports are stored in a database for later viewing. Moderators (and game administration) can browse them afterwards if they couldn't handle the report in real time. This will greatly improve our ability to respond to abuse reports.
Along with the reports, a few lines of the reporter's chat log will be stored. Moderators can see
- public messages preceding the /report (including bluea team chat)
- private /msg messages between the player who made the /report and the target
- /team chat from the target, if the reporter and the target belong in the same team
Include the abuser's nickname immediately after the /report command. You must type it exactly right, especially if you receive abusive private (/msg) messages. Otherwise the moderators can't see them.
All I see is "greatly improve our ability to respond to abuse reports".
I'd like to question this idea, to be honest.
Things need to be dealt with immediately, and not a day or 2 later to give the culprit the benefit of satisfaction.
An idiot enters the room and floods the whole room with stupid comments like "NOOBNOOBNOOBNOOBNOOB" there are no moderators in sight, after continious reporting from various players.
I still believe an auto-flood filter should be introduced to this, something like Habbo Hotel it'd save worthless and pointless spamming of rooms and they'd be alot less arguments as people with fast angry fingers would see the auto-flood has intercepted them.
Do you think Javaball should introduce an auto-flood feature? note Grant if you think it's a good or bad idea.
Your comments will be reviewed and could be published as a quote on a future story surrounding this issue.
