Euro 2008: Is almost upon us!

Friday, 31 October 2008

Euro 2008, is almost here and peoples hopes are getting high with all four countries believing they can bring the Euro 2008 championship to their country for the very first time.
Below is the final list of each country, and who they will be taking to Helsinki.

CZECH REPUBLIC

The biggest underdog is this competition could actually be a sleeping giant, such class as Lumcak & wosto already know what it's like to play in a team full of international stars and shall not be strangers to this tournament.
Coach Dakra4 chose his strongest squad and believes his team has the passion to go all the way.

Player to watch: Lumcak - Lumcak has the ability to hold a ball up, shoot and pass in a world class manner, England will have a problem keeping this lad away from shooting.

JBO Tournament verdict: 4th Place.

ENGLAND

England are one of the most improved countries surrounding Javaball.
They've been controversial in many possible ways, with arguements in the past and an un-friendly manner.
But within the last year, they seem to have proven a lot of people wrong with a maturer class of players and a manager who will never accept defeat.

Player to watch: P.ZeN - Some say he is the best player in England (UK), and some say he's one of the best amonst the game. P.ZeN has a lot of skill, and will no doubt be one of the biggest threats in the tournament.

JBO Tournament verdict: 2nd Place.

FINLAND

Finland are no doubt the most skillful country on Javaball.
They are the home nation of this tournament, and creators of the game.
Finland will not be going for any lower than first place, with new manager Malawi choosing a squad he believes will win this competition hands down.

Player to watch: V.ConE - Tipped as the best player on the game, V.ConE has amazing defensive skills and experience in many situations.
V.ConE will be more or less impossible to get passed unless the other countries have a game plan.

JBO Tournament verdict: 1st Place.

NETHERLANDS

The Netherlands have a very strong squad, who arn't going to be the whipping boys.
Canadian manager Overmars has trained this team to it's highest standards and is hoping that his team will repay him with the best possible finish, ie; the trophy itself.

Player to watch: Samuel - Samuel, better know as Säf is proberly THE best Dutch striker, and will score goals where ever he goes. This lad will be quite hard to stop if you're a defender.

JBO Tournament verdict: 3rd Place.

Developers show some quality intentions, at long long last!

As many of you would have known by now, there is big and for the majority fantastic news of a signal of intent of a very much likely improvement to soccer.kiekko.tk by the developers of this great game Jouko Pynnönen & Mikko Pynnönen via a screenshot they've released on http://kiekko.tk/pix/sosseri.png.

After the never-ending wait of a 18 months, since the dawn of the test version 22nd April 2007 after a comical kiekko.tk April Fools joke leading to the release of what we play today, we all at first anticipated a short-term test version and then the real deal to come by soon enough; we never at first recieved what we wanted and over a long time it seemed all interest of the developers about this game was lost as statements of "we do not have any immediate plans to update this game" and other different disturbances such as Hockey updates came in the way. But the loyal community have pulled through and are still consistently playing and keeping the daily user rate of around 95 a night in a struggle of tackling bugs and rows we've had to put up with a lot and we the loyal soccer.kiekko.tk community definitely deserve something.

Let's be honest the game has been crying out for developer intervention since the word go, times have been hard especially for moderators and teams alike, the test version overall hasn't ever been at a stability level of which we could call 'satisfactory' but it could all change. Credit to Jouko & Mikko we have had some occurences of improvements but for sure nothing as significant as to what looks the possible new deal. The Test version could be running on it's last days. The other implications such as VIP services, background noises, possibly a huge influx of new players from neat advertising that jouko & mikko are known to be capable of (just look at the NA Hockey server). I can almost safely say We finally have light at the end of the tunnel. I myself and most people do not know exactly when these graphical and hopefully gameplay improvements will take place but it will be one of the rare satisfactions experienced in our gaming years to come mark my words.

Take a look at this if you haven't seen the awesome pitch upgrade design:

http://kiekko.tk/pix/sosseri.png

No doubt that the pitch detail is on another level, the goal design is almost un-arguable with clear graphical showing of the bar & frame of the goal. The goal net itself, mouthwatering in ripping with a few bolt strikes :D, plus shadows of the underside of the bar easily creating impecable images of a proper footballing stadium and I constantly visualise the ball smacking the post with the background thump, theres the newly found team benches very much mirroring real-life, the advertising boards, pitch-lines, the box mud stud-rubble (developers mean business) ,corner flag, everything graphical we could have asked for is looking more and more possible; Possibly more? Hell no!, The state of this game I ain't complaining for anything we get.

Just compare that beauty to the current pitch we use in the test version and think, hmm. DAMN! We've played on a pile of shit all this time :P

The diagram also shows various different angles of the players body and kit design, it's exciting times to look forward to. Save the picture to my pictures and rotate, zoom in and view/edit to your hearts content; Yes folks this does look like it could be the new face of soccer; Let's hope we get great gameplay features too including what we all certainly know the Goalkeepers inability to be consistent on shots especially spin shots and inability to compete in 1v1 breakaways, the silly errors such as throw-in bugs, fair goals given as goal kicks, shots on the sidenetting being given as goals, random power-headers/volleys going at incredible speed, set-piece freezes, and perhaps to do with the fair goals part the influential crazy one-yard shot which is given as a goal kick (really ticks me off opposition or not :P). We all know the horrendous and putting-off errors which have perhaps been the main cause of so many exits from this mass potential game.

Have to say I'm very excited, the prospect of all these removals and the graphics is psyching me up and I suppose most of you will be pleased too, Love to see comments on what people (including inactive soccer users) feel about this major development in regards to the Football (Soccer/Javaball if you wanna be specific :-\) side of Java games.

"It was a really tough decision to make"

Saturday, 25 October 2008

The England selection process was a test of character, people's hopes & efforts even though it sounds strange for a Javaball game were evidently on the line here and Me and Gerrard were well aware of this. It was a really tough decision to make no doubt, saying we had to think hard about it would just about be an understatement. People missed out by the skin of their teeth and some just about broke in with the talent they had, But 14 is the number we were given and we carefully picked 14, There will always be the debating of "did we pick the right 14", "right or wrong choice to add him?" etc, but as it stands this is the 14 that are going to compete for what should be two massive games.

We welcome your criticisms on the process if you wish, we aren't robots and we will certainly reply to you on the England National Team forum discussion.

We wish everyone involved with or unfortunately left out of the England Setup the best of luck for the somewhat short EURO campaign and the future ahead.

Euro 2008: England Squad Announced

Friday, 24 October 2008

After hard thought from the England managerial staff, they have come to a conclusion that the following players will be traveling to Finland for the first ever Javaball European Championships:

Roster

Ronåldo
Simunic
Usko
Soriano
Pique
könönen
Overmars
Lupoli
Cesc
Maxi
P.ZeN
Pia
O.Martins
Grant

England manager Gerrard believes that the squad he has chosen has the ability to bring to the trophy home to England.
It will be a tough test, but the clock is ticking down to the opening ceremony!

Euro 2008: Preview

Thursday, 23 October 2008

There's only one week untill the launch of Javaball's Euro 2008 hosted by Spectator, and everyone taking part in this event are starting to buzz.
Czech Republic, England, Finland & The Netherlands will all give there best to bring the trophy home for the first time ever!
As the last training camps are coming into order for each country to pick the 14 players they will take to the tournament each player that has been either told to show up or just showing up will give there overall best to play for there country in this event.

on 18th October we saw the release of the official Euro 2008 website, and the mascots were finally revealed as "Klopper & Nix Nax".
I would personally like to give a heap of credit to Malawi, Spectator & Whoever else helped in organising this event.

Getting back to the main buisness, and well Czech Republic have been very un-organised and not very well planned in there international time line, they're yet to pick up a victory anywhere and will be looking to cause a valid upset against England in the first round of the Euro 2008 championships.
I'm sure Dakra4 will be choosing his strongest and most improved squad as he will be taking this competition seriously and will obviously be looking to cause an upset which is on the cards i think.

Though England have had ups and downs since Javaball was created, i honestly believe that England have been playing some of the best football they have ever played recentley.
Each player just seems to get better which is a good sign for England. Gerrard is well organised and they have other organised team members such as Cesc & P.ZeN.
Since the last training camp was held on the 19th october '2008 i have heard nothing but praise for the England manager after it was the most successful training camp so others have said.
England will be looking to brush Czech Republic aside as expected but i very much doubt it will be an easy game for the English as all teams in this competitions have entered Euro 2008 with full ammunition.

Finland. Clear cut favourites of this competition no doubt, they're the host nation and creators of this game, you can't really say nothing else but i don't think anyone should think that Finland will 100% win this competition.
Many teams who are Finnish owned and successful in the Javaball table are getting filled with players from countrys such as Czech, England, Netherlands & Poland.
It's a big advantage for the other countries as they will know what there capable of and arn't strangers to the Finnish playing style.

Netherlands. Hmm, well i'd say there quite evenly matched with the English. I mean they both have a community in Javaball which is growing. And i'd say there players are just as good as anyone else's.
Overmars an EX-English player will know the England team inside out should these two teams meet at a later date.
We could class Netherlands as second favourites in this competition, but the only thing that puts them 3rd in my eyes is that 4-2 friendly defeat in July this year.
Again a very strong squad is on the cards which we all know Overmars will do his best to pick the right players.

Should this be an entertaining and fun competition? I should hope so!

Defence from left to right:

Pique - One of Hertha BSC Berlin most valuable players and definatly one of there most loyalist players. Over the past week Pique has been starting in crucial matches like against Portsmouth, FC Telkkä and Nokian Palloseura. Against Portsmouth, Pique was forced to play defence, helping Hertha BSC Berlin to go strong on Pompey. Pique saved Hetha a numberous times but came out with an unlucky result. Pique went into a game vs FC Telkkä having being 1-0 down after 2 mins. 6 mins later Pique equalized with an astonishing effort from outside the box what found the ball in the back of FC Telkkä's net making it 1-1 at Half time. That game ended in a 4-4 draw. Pique faced the Soccer Kiekko IS Cup double champions Nokian Palloseura. Pique only played 5 mins and in those 5 mins Hertha BSC Berlin found themselves 2-0. Pique was forced to be subbed off and the game came to a 3-2 defeat for Hertha BSC Berlin. Pique has also fended off interest from other teams such as Portsmouth and Arsenal.

V.ConE - Probably the best defender in the game. This player dosn't supprise people if hes in Gerrards team of the week. He gives 100% effort in all games he plays and it takes some doing to break through the Nevarit defence. V.ConE who's only scored 4 and assisted 21 has got to be the best Nevarit defender. With vitual wins thanks to V.ConE against Portsmouth, Union Deportiva Las Palmas and Nokian Palloseura. V.ConE has shown his tallent against all of these clubs and keeping Nevarits conceded goals low.

Gerrard - Since Gerrard is back from his Xbox 360, Gerrard had 2 things on his mind. These was make Liverpool active & manage a sucessful England team to Euros. Liverpool are now actuve due to the new signings of Maxi, Bonera, Lumcak and many more by Gerrard. Gerrard and Liverpool's first game back took his team out to face Hooligan's Poland. After 40 seconds Liverpool found themselves ahead by a goal from Maxi. Hooligan's Poland decided to leave after that goal went in. The same day, Gerrard and Liverpool faced the English team giants Arsenal in a 4v4 match which came to a 7-4 victory for the Scousers. Liverpool then faced Hooligan's Poland again and gave them a thrashing 6-2 in a 5v5 game. Gerrard played 20:00 mins in all of these matches. Liverpool went into a 5v5 against the unstoppable Union Deportiva Las Palmas. In the first 10 mins Union Deportiva Las Palmas was all over Liverpool shooting from left right and centre. Gerrard saved Liverpool from being 3-0 down in the first half from a unbeleivable block off the line by Santiago and a clearence off the line from Korte. Liverpool was defeated that match 2-0.

Midfields from Left to Right:

Svensson - Svensson is also a member of Hertha BSC Berlin like Pique and is also one of Hertha BSC Berlin valuable players like Pique. Svensson has been scoring in the most vitual games on Soccer Kiekko like a unbeleivable hattrick vs the giants Nevarit which lead into a 3-3 draw. Also scoring a unstoppable equalizer vs Portsmouth what unluckly ended in a 2-1 defeat. Svensson already netting 56 goals and assisted 19 is coming up to be a promising Finnish midfielder. We are looking forward to see more of him

Rossi - Rossi is a new member of the league giants Nokian Palloseura and already scored 15 goals and assisted 13. Rossi also known as Red is well known now for his promising midfield role which he enjoys playing in. The finnish star has been scoring goals left right and centre for NoPS including the winner against Union Deportiva Las Palmas what saw NoPS win 3-2. Also being 2-0 down against Hertha BSC Berlin Rossi decided to take incharge and scoring 4 mins into the second half. After seeing his team mate aat5i who was in last weeks team of the week scoring from the spot, Rossi scored the winning goal in dieing moments.

Santiago - Ever since Santiago created his club Recreartivo Huelva, Santiago has improved to be one of the best on the game. Now that Recreartivo Huelva is close Santiago decided to join Union Deportiva Las Palma which he seems comfortable in. Already finding the back of the net 32 times in under a week is some sort of achievment. It has been known that Santiago has the best stats on the game having over +3,000! Santiago who missed out in the friendly vs England will sure to be in the Finland national squad in the Euros!

Centre attack

Toulalan - Toulalan is one goal machine. He cannot stop scoring, hes been on fire for Holy Divers and somone has to put him out or he'll be a threat in the Euros! Toulalan who's always had Holy Divers in his heart has netted 293 goals and created 133. Toulalan being the lone striker for Holy Divers saw them cruise past Liverpool in a 8-4 victory. Toulalan scored 5 that match. Also Toulalan netted 2 goals against Portsmouth which Holy Divers kept a clean sheet. Holy Divers had the last laugh against Nevarit when they managed to crush Blisters boys in an 8-2 victory which he found the back of the net twice.

England stars caught on video doing the YMCA!

Friday, 10 October 2008

Gerrard and his England boys has been seen in the dressing room before a training session singing and dancing to YMCA! The England manager was also involved in this by encouraging others to get up and dance before the camp.

Gerrard after saw this footage and said to the video producer 'It was all fun and games and nobody got hurt'

We thank Pique for spending time and putting quality into this video

NOTE: There is also a mysterious legend who is now retired and no longer play hiding at the end of the video doing some MACHO MOVES! See if you can spot him :)

Thanks

JBO is 1 month old

Tuesday, 7 October 2008

It's been a successful first month at Javaball Online, we've reported stories that people are enjoying to read. And stories that people did not find amusing.
But in all, we're doing quite well overall.
We've got Cesc & Gerrard who are reporting a little more often that what they actually were. But as you all know we're still crying out for more reporters, as i'm trying to post stories but i'm getting less time to do these stories due to events away from the internet.
If we could get about another one or two active authors for JBO which should be fairly stable, but still it's all good and we thank you for your continued support of Javaball and we hope you continue reading.

Thanks a lot!

Lupoli to Berlin?

Monday, 6 October 2008

Reports from an unknown source suggest that Hertha BSC Berlin are going to make a move for Arsenal player Lupoli.
When will the torment stop?

Is AC Arto's challenge for the title fading?

Sunday, 5 October 2008

Is it fading?

I should think so.
If you look at there recent record they've only won 2 of there last 9 ranked matches, and they've been wins against teams like Marna Snaha & "poland teams" no disrespect to them, but there not the most hardiest of teams to beat now days.

It's been a big disapointment for me watching ACA shoot there way up the table into 4th, but then drop into 13th postion which has really proven to be a regular postion for them in recent weeks.

I think there missing Zaroza. The fin has scored 5 in his last 5 ranked games for ACA, even though that isn't a very special record to hold to your name, he is still the kind of player that lights up matches.

There's a lot to be done at ACA for them to regain there top 6 spot.

England star P.ZeN has announced what his lineup would be in the Euro's!

Saturday, 4 October 2008

England's international star P.ZeN has announced today what he beleives the strongest England line-up for 2008's Euro.

P.ZeN explained that there is no Overmars due to him being the Holland manager. As the matter of fact he would of been starting Overmars in the back 3 for Euro.

P.ZeN has gone for the famous England's 3-3-1 formation what we have used for the past 4 internationals. This time he beleives the midfield needs to support the attack much more and make the play abit more spread out. This means not everyone going for the ball also known as ball following.

Gerrard's team of the week!

Friday, 3 October 2008

From now onwards, every Friday myself (Gerrard) will be studying on all the players very closley and will pick a team of the week. To be in the team of the week you must have a posative attitude. This dosn't mean getting muted every day. You must perform well and must be a team player!

I do not go for the people who are stars. I go for the people who has performed the best and who has improved the most!

Heres is this weeks team of the week!

Javaball: Transfers, rumours & gossip

Thursday, 2 October 2008

Hertha BSC Berlin enter Pakki & Morpe to there books

Hertha BSC Berlin have been linked with Holy Divers defenders Pakki & Morpe and also an unamed player who has almost signed a deal at Hertha BSC Berlin according to reports we've recieved from head scout Pique.

"We're looking at experienced defensive options to add to our current group and either one of pakki or Morpe possibly both fit the mold perfectly.
I can also say we have another fresh talent on its way 80% sure it will be soon, i think all that is holding the deal back is the contract".

Liverpool begin autumn clear out, eye Isagoff & Tedesco & unnamed winger.

"Myself and planktoni today was having a discussion about Liverpool. We decided we are going to kick the unactive not so good players and bring new players in. The not so inactive people like Pumba & Baros will not be kicked due to them being very valuable members of the team. I asked planktoni if hes eyeing up some more people and he said hes very close friends with the old ReHu (Recreartivo Huelva) days without any English. He has also been trying to invite players into Liverpool.
We also beleive that Isagoff & Tedesco are at higher standards to be at Hertha BSC Berlin and we will be offering a contract to them some time soon.
And I have also advised planktoni an English international winger who I shall not name and he has some intrest on this player. Hes very unhappy at the club he plays for now."

Portsmouth back in for Lupoli?

Reports suggest that Lupoli and Cesc had a bust-up in an earlier team meeting, and Portsmouth are now monitoring the situation.
If Lupoli joins he wont only return to his old club, but he will also be the 4th English player to join Portsmouths new ERA.

Euro 2008 Draw: Date announced

The spectator Euro 2008 draw date has been announced.

The draw will take place at 20:08 (FIN) 18:08 (GMT) on 11 October '08.

29 Days to go! we're nearly there.

A legend club dies, another is resurected!

As the news broke yesterday that legend club Recreartivo Huelva had closed.
Today it looks as though Portsmouth are back.

Portsmouth gained 1198.77 ranking points whilst being open not so long ago 10 wins 4 draws and only 4 losses, they were a team on fire but as Tor closed there was no hope of Pompey coming back. Untill now!
As Tor (Better know as Viera) has now brang back Portsmouth they have signed such stars as England striker pia and defender Ronåldo, Maxi has also joined meaning there is now 3 English players in the squad.
I think now that Portsmouth are back there will be competition around the top 7 spaces in the weeks to come, though 4-4 & 6-6 draws in 4v4 matches haven't proved there on fire since they've been back. AC Arto being the only team they've played since there resurrection.

Liverpool signs Unobe!

Liverpool today has finally announced the confirmation of the new signing Unobe from Recreartivo Huelva. After Santiago releasing all the players apart from himself, Unobe comes straight into Liverpool invited by Liverpool's very own planktoni. Planktoni who was once a Recreartivo Huelva player and is on the hall of fame has managed to intrest top players to Anfield.

Could Liverpool's losing nightmares come to an end? Well the past 4 games Liverpool has played they have managed to beat teams like; Arsenal (4-1) Hertha BSC Berlin (6-1) Union Deportiva Las Palmas (5-0) and in a rank game Deportivo La Coruna (7-5).

Unobe who has been very loyal to Recreartivo Huelva after scoring 659 goals for the club and assisted 367 which has to be one of the greatest legends of Recreartivo Huelva. For some reason Santiago has still not added Unobe to the hall of fame list.

Lets hope Unobe settles in his new club at Liverpool and we are looking forward to see the partnership of planktoni & Unobe back in the days.

Match Report: Slovakia 2 - 3 Czech Republic

Wednesday, 1 October 2008

Slovakia 2 - 3 Czech Republic

As there was no match preview of this game due to the unorganised side of this game, so we've decided to jump straight to the match report itself.
Slovakia took on Czech Republic, but it wasn't going to be easy for neither teams.

A minute played a Sluka already causing problems for the Czech defence, the Slovakian striker smacks the ball onto the post a great opportunity should of been 1-0 to Slovakia.
Slovakia finally opened up the scoreline in the 2nd minute of the game, after a tap a strike from the Slovakian striker Sluka. A lot of confusion in the box for a corner saw Slovakian defender Karhan nearly put the ball into his own net with a header, but -walcott- got the ball into the net eventually after the rebound was tapped in 1-1.
As things could not get any better for Karhan, things just got worse he almost scored an own-goal earlier, but he suceeded this time around. He tried clearing the ball off the line but ended up miss-kicking the ball properly which led to him blasting the ball into the roof of his own net 2-1 Czech.
The goal of the game came 4 minutes into the game, a stylish cross into the box from Lumcak saw -Walcott- finish off a superb header to make it 3-1 to the Czech, the stylish football they were playing ment that in my eyes that had burried this game.
It wasn't the case though after 15 minutes played, the first bit of action we'd of seen for 10 minutes Sluka getting his second goal of the game for Slovakia 3-2 game on.
The game finished 3-2 to Czech Republic, there was chances... M.Stoch shaving the crossbar from a 25-yard strike for Slovakia. M.Stoch also missed a neat chance but was intercepted by Czech defender S.Vlcek.

Statement from Arsenal FC: Lupoli & Bergkamp Return to The Emirates Stadium

Arsenal can Confirm the Signing of Arsenal-legend and Record club goalscorer Lupoli from Recreartivo Huelva after ReHu owner Santiago decided to release everybody except himself from the team perhaps in an Exodus or a decision to leave the team.

We also have gained the Signature of one of our best and most consistent defenders of last season Bergkamp, the exodus of ReHu has only sped up the return of the duo.

This might spark some controversy as we do not allow any usage of Multinicks in our club and we don't stop traditions for anyone so all these signings have been given STRICT ruling to not ever use these Multinick accounts whilst a part of our club, They may only keep these Nicks for the purpose of reserving for the VIP service of changing usernames in the future.

Cesc

Cesc's Thoughts on Arsenal's Progress so far..

Hello Javaball Online readers..

This ones for the Arsenal, things have been tough no doubt, It's all been hard work and determination which has got us through the period where many would have given up and thrown away the key.

I think we set a fine example to clubs looking to build for the future with good and solid foundations, Recently we have accomplished massive wins against the likes of Hertha BSC Berlin and Union Deportiva Las Palmas which has proven our new tactics of Beautiful passing football right.
We look to move on and build from here and I'm very happy with our new signings contributing massively to our possession play, Defensively I see room for improvement, As for the transfer market, things look to be moving in the right direction for a few players I won't mention as of yet.

Cesc
